Hello, Welcome to the Crew 84 Homepage!

Crew 84 is a relatively new Crew that is looking for new members! At the moment, we only have a small number of Crew members but we have a mix of ages 14 all the way up to 18 including young men and women. We are just starting out, so this is an advantageous time to join, as you can be invovled with the building and direction of the crew. Please see below for frequently asked questions! For other information like, leadership positions within the Crew and awards you can earn, please see the crew tab!

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is Venturing?

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 13 and have completed the eighth grade, or age 14 through 20 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Venturing supports all kinds of activities ranging from service to high adventure, and it is what you make it.

When and Where Does Troop 84 Meet?

We meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at Northside Fellowship Presbyterian Church located at 6841 Freeman Rd Westerville, OH  43082 right across the street from Fouse Elementary School. We meet at 7:00pm-8:30pm.

What Kinds of Activities Does Crew 84 Participate In?

There are many different opportunities for activities, including service, like volunteering and also high adventure. The specific activities will be dicided by the Crew itself and organized by the Crew with the help of the Crew Advisor. There are activites like camping, snow sports, water sports, backpacking, ziplining and hiking; but there are many other activites not mentioned.

Do I Need a Uniform or Equipment?

A uniform is not required but it does foster a good sense of belonging and accomplishment as the crew members earn ranks and other awards through their venturing career. We encourage all venturers to wear the uniform.

Generally, each venturer should have his or her own sleeping bag, back pack, mess kit, and 10 essentials. Many times these items can be borrowed so if you are just starting out, don't worry. Tents are not necessary, but are nice to have. For more information on gear including the 10 essentials, have a look at this article on our website. As the Crew is very new, we have not had a chance to organize any events yet so gear is not essential at the moment.
